Cesare Davolio is an Italian illustrator and animator based in Rotterdam. He initiated The Writer’s Kitchen along with his partner, Renée Turner, whom he met at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht.
Through illustration and animation, his work explores themes such as social justice, appreciation of the animal world, and the quirks of everyday life and the people who inhabit it. Working across cultural and commercial commissions, each of which feeds into his personal work, he has worked for a variety of clients, such as Amnesty International and Submarine Productions, and has collaborated on commercial projects with the creative agency Shop-Around.
His illustrations have been featured in print and digital publications such as the NRC and Men’s Health, and his animations have featured in international campaigns and screened at a variety of animation festivals.
